Roberto Pietri "Meoni"
Starting from the bottom, in picture No. 1 and No. 2 Roberto Pietri "Meon" exit the box of 8 hours in Ontario 1980. In the picture n.3 Pietri Daytona during Race Week 1982. I state that the writing of this post was rather difficult as finding information on this Venezuelan driver who has trodden the scenes of the AMA Superbike and AMA F1 in the late seventies and early eighties, it was not easy. His name is inseparably linked to the Honda, House for which he has always raced in his career, playing the role of Pilot Journal. Roberto Pietri this fascinating character: Venezuelan resident in the U.S., physicist from Hollywood actor, character Gascon, air playboy, rich family (he was the nephew of former Venezuelan President Rafael Caldera). Despite his family's coat of arms, it was almost always dry dollars, then how often the offspring of families who wish to dedicate prestigious races in spite of the recommendations of parents who would like their son embark on an entirely different career than that of the pilot. Written on the stone brought suit rather than his real name, nickname "Meon" which had been saddled by his older brother, when Robert, still small, it was wet the bed. But probably the time to race, despite the nickname "Meon" was embroidered on the chest in full view of his suit, nobody would have dared to call it that, in a tone of derision, as the Venezuelan driver was also a black belt full contact and had represented his country several times in international competitions. Among his successes, as well as those of "stage" obtained in the AMA Superbike, we remember the 200 Miles of Imola 1982 riding a Honda. In the same year should be mentioned the third-place finish in the Daytona 200 (AMA Formula One) and also in the same position in more 100 miles of Daytona (AMA Superbike). Pietri was one of the great designers of the pioneering work with the AMA Superbike: Wes Cooley, Mike Baldwin, Freddie Spencer, Eddie Lawson, Mike Spencer. In the late seventies and early eighties, along with fellow mentioned brawl, riding the beautiful Nipponese four-cylinder derived from the series will be challenged in epic battles that have since been engraved in the memories of fans.

Grande Carlos!
For a specific choice of who writes about Cesena Bikers it was very little "news" regarding the Sport of Motorcycle Racing, giving almost exclusively to area bike riders and competitions of the past. This time, however I find it scrivre few lines on the first round of the Superbike World Championship 2011. The race at Phillip Island that was held last night we made some really interesting ideas. Apart from the great duel in Game 2 between Max Biaggi and Marco Melandri for the place of honor on the podium, apart from the two precious second places achieved by the Roman rider riding the Aprilia that broadly confirm the strength of this duo, world champion in 2010 and the great surprise of the day was the double Carlos Checa made from the Ducati Team Althea. Purposely, I have not posted anything on this blog that was inherent to the withdrawal of Ducati in official competitions for the maximum derived from the series not to stir up the already numerous and bitter controversy that arose following the discussion (and questionable ..) on choice made by the management of Ducati. At this point, but I think it's fair to write something about it. About this choice made by Ducati has been said and written so much. On balance, the official version of the facts, reasons given for this withdrawal is that the House has taken this route in Bologna as believed that under the current regulation, the bikes with four-cylinder engine (ie competition), to be advantaged compared to those with a twin (or her). The two goals of today's Carlos Checa, obtained in a resolute way, seems to say that things are not so and that the 1198 still has many strings to its bow and can shoot with proper development, could still be one of the "bike to beat ". The Gazzetta dello Sport yesterday (Saturday, 26/02/2011) Max Biaggi has effectively summed up simply by saying the situational: "The Ducati is withdrawn because she felt penalized by the current technical regulations, but I think what they has seriously penalized in the past two seasons has been the management of the drivers first and then choose the same .. " . I am therefore thinking it might be easier to make the "pretty face" when you win and have drivers like: Polen, Fogarty and Bayliss, but perhaps even more than it is giving it all up at the first difficulty blaming the regulation of Championship. He then said on several fronts that the Superbike has been abandoned in an official capacity by the House Bologna to channel men, equipment and capital project at a time MotoGP, Valentino Rossi, riding with no room for error: if you miss the Ducati lose and the pilot who won pesarerse with each bike which he raced. If you win, became the "minimum wage" as there are a driver who has a team. If this is true or not is not given to know how to noi comuni mortali anche se è facile avere questo pensiero.. Tutto il successo commerciale the red Bologna rests its foundations on the winning image from the series derived from the bike like the 851, the 888, the 916, the 996, the 998, the 999 and 1098 were able to give the (beating off competition from giants for years nippon) and not on the only world title got the Desmosedici. The pilots that the public has loved and tried to imitate, perhaps by buying the Monster were Doug Polen, Carl Fogarty, Troy Bayliss, tough people, dedicated to winning and not complaints! Fortunately, however, to bring back the smile on the faces of fans from the heart desmodromic seems that this year may think the proper Carlos Checa, the pilot and seriously fast, that despite not being in the spotlight as some more famous fellow Brand, always runs with a generous spirit, and not complaining about taking home some important victories. We only hope that someone will notice Ducati and decides to help by developing and providing the motion of the material that can lend a hand to remain a leader even in the hottest of the season. For now, pending the success (or flop?) Of this mega project in Moto GP 2011, be satisfied and let's enjoy this truly magical moment, both for good and for the Ducati Carlos, the first in the standings and full score, as happened in "golden years"!

27/02/2011: Second exit of Cesena Bikers
This morning we held the second release of this "motostagione 2011 "Bikers of Cesena. Before describing the details should be noted that it has been a source of some interesting ideas such as the arrival of a new shift in our group, and the young Andrea Balducci riding his Ducati Monster 695. Cesena Bikers is a group that fortunately proved extremely "alive" because every year it will add new friends. This new presence makes me very proud because Andrea was only eighteen and therefore together with Suan and Damian (Cesena Bikers from last season) , represents the future of our organization. The second reason of interest of this output is represented by the itinerary we have chosen. We left from our office at about 09:40 and after we went to Longiano, from Abbey have taken to Santa Paula. From there we went to the "Lockyer" that bends all the famous climb that leads to Sogliano the Rubicon. Once in the "land of the aged cheese", after a brief coffee break (to warm up a bit ..), we continued to use Bridge. Once there, we opted to follow the Gorolo then decreased up to villages and on to the Castle and finally in Savignano sul Ribano Rubicon from where we returned to our homes. As output per se has kept us in the saddle for ninety minutes and then view only optics of the numbers, it would be considered "remarkable." It must be said that this morning the weather was rather cold and we're back home in the rain, fortunately only encountered in the last kilometers. It should also be noted that shortly after the return to our homes we have also seen a few flakes of snow, which gain value despite the fact that a whole bunch of crazy has nevertheless decided to start riding their motorcycles to have decided to make a out in this cold Sunday in February. The pitch was obviously taking a softer line, but as I have been saying for a while 'of time now: to have fun in motion, no need to run! I want to thank: David Masini, Gino Gorini, Daniela Zammarchi, Suan Kercuku and the aforementioned Andrea Balducci for their presence and especially for their pet! I personally believe that if good morning starts in the morning, this "motostagione 2011", which is already game of momentum with two fine outings, promises great things!

not happen every day at home to receive gifts not found in fact that happened in early February to return from my course Bologna ho trovato un graditissimo pacco regalo direttamente dal Piemonte contenente il famoso Burro salato delle Fattorie Fiandino..un ingrediente di cui avevo sentito tanto parlare su diversi blog ...l'occasione è quella di trovare 30 ricette da inserire in un libro dedicato appunto al burro salato 1889. Passata la prima settimana in adorazione di uno, anzi due, panetti di burro (neanche fossero le reliquie di un santo) guai a chi li toccava, aprivo il frigo controllavo che stessero lì e se vi devo dire la verità non volevo usarlo perchè non volevo che finisse poi però dovevo darmi da fare e quindi dopo aver scartato il primo panetto e aver assaggiato curiosa questo ingrediente segreto così assoluto ho messo in moto la mia fantasia and immediately came to mind a number of recipe to try, but I wanted this secret ingredient as the protagonist of my prescription and then remembering a few things learned during the course on honey I tried the method of cooking potatoes on a bed of coarse salt as recommended by the chef and the result was a triumph of flavors, flavor and taste unmatched

Before concluding, I wish to thank Sandra through which they become aware of this Farms initiative and Fiandino for giving me the opportunity to discover the salted butter, 1889, a genuine product and quality, which also struck my husband absolutely a fierce Taliban and butter for most kinara
Good Sunday to all ........ today I expect the demonstrations to Chefs Culinary (but I will talk about this next week)

When men were real men and motorbikes motorcycles were true ..
Wes Cooley on the Honda RS500 engaged in a race (wet) of the AMA Formula 1 on the route of the Mid-Ohio in 1984. Almost everyone remembers Wes Cooley for his exploits aboard the accessible Yoshimura Suzuki in AMA Superbike. Those who have even better memory can recollect of his debut, when he drove the Kawasaki. Is certainly more difficult to match the very strong American rider of a motorcycle produced by the great House of Tokyo. In 1984, Wes Cooley and instead formed the Honda a strong coupling in the AMA Formula 1. Wes at this season boasted a very privileged situation compared to many other drivers, which only goes in search of a contract to race: he had signed two contracts that bound him to as many homes. Signed to race with Honda in F1 and the AMA Suzuki pledged to take part in AMA Superbike.

From Sweden to Spain to Italy via a single meatball!!
or I do not like meat very much and maybe the only way to eat them is to make the meat balls, meatballs, but not simple but ... Las Albondi gas ie meatballs featuring the famous English tapas, their characteristic is that they are smaller than the homegrown and meatballs are always served with the sauce, in short, the Our meatballs in tomato sauce that my mom always did and then sometimes it was even smaller for spaghetti ... and you have never eaten spaghetti with meatballs in tomato sauce?? For me it's a childhood memory the fact is that my mom is a practical, be that to keep up with five children must inevitably be practical and try to make things simple here this was a dish that puts us all in agreement, then growing and I discovered that traveling around the world over the balls of my mother can do even the Spaniards (which are considered our cousins \u200b\u200band in fact have the same interests), except that they call them "albondigas" and we "meatballs" but eventually "the whole world is a place "!!!! So reminiscent of a trip made in Tarifa (a wonderful place) in southern Spain last year, reminding one of the many evenings spent eating tapas I remembered them

Honda NSR 500 1984: The second sin of presumption .. RANDY
Honda in 1983 reached the iris in the premier class, thus removing the only empty seat left in his important shouts then obtained in the World Championship. The House of Japan has pursued this title since 1966, fielding a formidable pair formed by Mike Hailwood and RC181. Although the Constructors' title was achieved, with regard to the pilots, the British ace was forced to bow to his Agostini and MV Agusta. Following this disappointment (and especially to concentrate on F1), the Japanese giant withdrew. After a decade spent away from the Honda Grand Prix made its return, the futuristic but never fielding competitive four-NR 500 empi dotata di pistoni ovali. La NS 500, dotata di un propulsore a tre cilindri (quando la concorrenza si avvaleva di motori a four-cylinder ..) even if it were not the most powerful bike of the lot, he proved with a power to weight ratio and an optimal cycle of states that made the bike ride and then made a well-exploited by the pilot. The goodness of this project was further proved by the fact that the version of "clients" of the NS 500 or RS 500, sold by private teams, meant that the drivers who brought the good results obtained in the race, which was becoming a World Championship " more and more of the official teams and spices that left less and less to individuals. For the season 1984 the HRC, just won the title strong, instead of continuing the development of the bike with which he had taken the iris decided to change it. The latter choice is precisely that which gave a downturn in the 1984 season, bringing evidence of problems since the first GP on the calendar. The season opener in 1984 was disputed fact on the track at Kyalami, South Africa. Freddie Spencer immediately turned very strong with this new bike, beginning with the pole position. The asphalt runway of South Africa, however, was very spoiled, and because of stress due to various irregularities of the road surface, the Carbon rear wheel of the motorcycle World Champion with a crash gave way, causing it to fall and the shoulder injury that kept him on enforced rest. From that moment between the ace and the first American version of the NSR was forced cohabitation! Freddie also complained (rightly), that the motion due to the positioning of the exhaust "cook" who wore it. On some occasions the pilot refused to use it even in the race, preferring, to the despair of technical HRC, the old NS 500. Despite three victories and second place obtained by Freddie Spencer on the NSR (which should be added to the two captured aboard the NS), at the end of the season the only American driver won fourth place in the standings while the world title if they win Eddie Lawson and his Yamaha YZR 500. Starting from the year following the NSR was designed according to more conventional solutions and due to the gradual development work, Total became the weapon that allowed the GP to rule unchallenged throughout the second half of the nineties.

Starting from the year following the NSR was designed according to more conventional solutions and due to the gradual development work, Total became the weapon that allowed the GP to rule unchallenged throughout the second half of the nineties.

noodles versus macarons!
I love macarons. Especially chocolate.
I discovered them in Paris many years ago and it was love at first sight! Fortunately
are part of those delicacies of a country that has been exported and delight the palates of foreign countries. Now I no longer need to go to France (where, however, I'm always happy!) To taste.
My goal is another ... but now Hong Kong.
Hong Kong and its noodles, another delicacy (but not of macarons, much less!) Which has been exported and now we find almost everywhere. Luckily there also find the macarons!
But the truth is ........... I like the tortellini in these days without my mother?
MY Imperfect ENGLISH TRANSLATION...smile!
I love macarons. I love chocolate macarons.
I found them in Paris a lot of years ago and I love them immediately!
Fortunately they are exported in foreign contries and I don't have to go to France (where I'm happy to go!) to eat them.
But now I'll go to...Hong Kong.
Hong Kong and his noodles, another good food (but less then macarons!) exported in a lot of countries. Luckily I will find macarons in HK!
But the truth is....how can I do in this days without "tortellini" of my mather??

CLEEK: a career ended too soon!
Public Cesena Bikers on this post dedicated to the American rider Randy Cleek following a request for information made to me by our "treasury" that is learned from this pilot about an article dedicated to it, published Motosprint No. 7 of 2011:
Randy Cleek (Shawnee, July 27, 1955 - Imola, April 3, 1977) was an American motorcycle rider. Took his first steps into the world of motorcycle racing only four years, riding a minibike. His racing career began at 10 years, when he took off his first race. Early in his career he took the risk mainly in competitions Speedway and hill climbs. 1972 was his first professional season, where he participated in the National Championship Speedway and in the Short Track, reaching respectively the seventh and eleventh place in the final per la sua categoria. Cleek si trovò a prendere il Instead of Steve Baker who was injured following an accident. The young pilot proved up to the task, winning points and thus help to ensure that the U.S. team got their first win in the competition. He continued to compete even on ovals, achieving excellent results with the TZ 750 Flat-Track. The 1976 season saw his transition to the final races on the track. Cleek attended the Daytona 200 and finished in eighth place overall. Later he took part in various races on the European circuit. Compete in U.S. Championship competition where, thanks to a series of excellent performances, won the final victory in the AMA Road Racing Championship. In the same year convoluted a wedding with his girlfriend, Traci Simmons. Cleek was aiming for 1977 to win the Grand National Championship, as well as greater participation in European competitions for the new MotoGP class: the Formula 750 category become valid for the world title in that very same season. The first race of the year 1977, however, opposed by bad weather, it was the Daytona 200 where Cleek got the tenth place in the only race held to win his first world championship point. He moved to Europe, his very first effort of some importance in the "old continent" was the Imola 200, which ran Sunday, April 3. The race, whose victory went to Kenny Roberts, was also marked by Pat Evans's death, contemporary U.S. pilot Randy. Cleek, on a Yamaha sponsored by the Bel Ray, only twenty-fourth ended the first round, and made it to eighth place in the second. The combination of the two results, however, never let him get points for the Championship. In the evening, Cleek went by car to the hotel where he once spent the night. On board the Fiat 132 rented, along with Cleek, traveling Williams Kurt Keifer, director of the Bel Ray, and Joseph Geraci, U.S. interpreter of Italian origin and Cleek. While traveling along the Highway 306 directly on the outskirts of Imola, their car ended up off the road, crashed against a wall cement. Fiat in the collision broke away from the ground, only to fall back on track, hitting another car that came from the opposite direction, un'Autobianchi A112. Cleek were killed on impact, Keifer, Geraci dell'Autobianchi and the three occupants, a young couple from Lugo and her daughter a few years. They finished as the career and especially the life of another young American rider, the promise of motorcycling stars and stripes. Cleek was even more unfortunate compatriot Hennen. But both helped to make the world understand that the States were "churning" in those years, a new generation of fast riders not only at home but able to shine even overseas. Cleek and Hennen were the unlucky two precursors dell'American Wave che con Kenny Roberts prese il via nel 1978 e perdurò sino alla prima metà degli anni novanta, sancendo 15 anni di assoluto dominio da parte dei piloti "born in the USA".
