AMA Superbike race of the Mid-Ohio, 1987. In the picture we see Bubba Shobert (Honda n.67), Wayne Rainey (# 6 Honda), Kevin Schwantz (Suzuki Yoshimura # 34) and Jimmy Filice (Yamaha 17). Shobert despite a lightning start and an early stint on the conduct masterly trio of pursuers, finished the race "only" in the fourth position, due to a mistake under braking at the entrance of a curve, sent a "straight" resulting in loss of time. At that point he unleashed a fierce tussle between the eternal rivals Kevin Schwantz and Wayne Rainey. At the finish line in the first place was the ace in Texas aboard the # 34 Suzuki who managed to push the opponent in the second position. Jimmy Felix, although he took part in the brawl failed to worry the opponents and crossed the line in third position.
