Rainey, Schwantz, Polen and Shobert .. suffice?
AMA Superbike race of the year 1987 Memphis. On that day the now distant 1987, motorcycle enthusiasts who were present at the Memphis Motorsports Park on the occasion of the AMA Superbike race, witnessed an incredible battle. A tussle on the track perhaps, inflaming the minds of fans and experts was in fact a real poker Aces:
Wayne Rainey (Honda # 6) leading rival Kevin Schwantz (Suzuki # 34) on which in turn runs over to Doug Polen (semi-hidden) and Bubba Shobert (Honda n.67) to close the quartet. A greater emphasis on the star level that had reached the AMA Superbike Championship in those years, just think that in this photo depicts three World Champions! world champion Wayne Rainey in the 500 Class World Championship in the years 1990.1991 and 1992, Kevin Schwantz World Champion in the same category in 1993 and world champion Doug Polen Superbike World Championship in 1991 and 1992 and later won the world title dell'Endurance in 1997 and 1998. Of these four great drivers, the only one not to boast at least one bay Bubba Shobert was champion, and as seen in a previous post, has not had time to showcase his talent on an international level as a victim of a serious accident that shattered his career. On other occasions, on this blog, I called the AMA Superbike Championship (AMA Races and in general ..) as a veritable breeding ground of champions, from which, in a short period of time, have left some of the best drivers that have ever trod the stage of the MotoGP and Superbike, making them among the eighties and early nineties, real "fiefdoms" USA.
